If I use your tool to create multiple sketches... I might end up with a lot on "Untitled sketches" in my folder. Most of them would not work. How can I delete them? Thx.48 votes
The ability to delete a sketch from your sketchpad studio account has been the #1 request for far too long. I finally had the chance to add this feature yesterday. You can find a brief explanation of how to use it here: http://blog.sketchpad.cc/2014/10/tidying-up/
I'm not sure if this has been addressed elsewhere but I would find it useful! I like being able to separate out different aspects of my sketch, otherwise the file can get a bit long and confusing.24 votes
It is now finally possible to break a sketch into multiple files. This blog post explains how to make use of the new feature: http://blog.sketchpad.cc/2015/10/multisketches/
Right now, every time one person renders the image, everyone's focus returns to the code box, so any typing goes there. This can be annoying when you're trying to chat with someone who hits render, and mid-word you find that you're chatting with your program.7 votes
Done! Sorry for the four-year delay…
I would really really like to have access to the ControlP5 libs on StudioSketchpad. Please allow that (and other libs) to be accessible on sketchpad.6 votes
There seems to be a bug where the small floating canvas zooms in when it shouldn't, resulting in only a portion of the sketch being shown. The mouselocations also get off-positioned (they're in the same position as they would be had the sketch not been magnified)6 votes
Fixed. The canvas is always sized properly now.
Have a Syntax Search like "Wonderfl" does, so you can quickly find examples with certain codes4 votes
Thanks for the suggestion. Wonderfl has several great features that could be useful in the context of creating sketches on Sketchpad, including syntax search.
I’ve implemented a (mostly-functional) syntax search, which you can find in the upper-righthand corner of the sketch editor. At some point, I’d like to better integrate this into the site, but hopefully this captures some of the value of a having a syntax search available.
Thanks for the suggestion!
When I want to write a new sketch, I would like to start from skratch and not being horced to remove code I didn't write.4 votes
My intent was to provide something to start with that’s render-ready immediately. I do think that makes for a better first-use experience, but I also agree that it isn’t ideal for people who know exactly what it is that they want to do.
While I’m not going to remove the default sketch for studio.sketchpad.cc, I now allow private studio owners ( http://blog.sketchpad.cc/teaching/private-studios/ ) the ability to override this with a sketch of their own choosing (which may be blank.)
Thanks again for the suggestion.
Currently, there is sounds made when someone post a new chat comment or renders sketch. it gets to me after a while :P4 votes
The audio effects have been removed.
When you move the output window the rest of the studio should maximize to use that space.4 votes
The full-width option for the editor is back! There’s a checkbox in the footer to turn it on and off. Also, the page header now squishes to save (vertical) space. Moving the mouse over the header re-expands it.
Resources: Allow upload to ".otf" & ".tff" fonts for p5.js!3 votes
The site seems to think that I'm not logged in if I click links to sketches from the blog.3 votes
I find the site generally slow and laggy, which makes it hard to use. If this can be reviewed at some point to see if there is anything using more resources than necessary, I'd appreciate it.3 votes
I identified and fixed the two main issues that were affecting performance during peak hours, and believe that the site should now be much more responsive under load.
thanks for you incredible work !
But... I don't find the debug console ... maybe it's exist, but if not, I think it would be really important to have debug console.
I teach Processing to students and I want to use your beautiful sketchpad tool, but it could be difficult if I can't speak about bug, exception, println etc...
Thanks for your answer.3 votes
Firebug is probably the best tool to use here. Feel free to drop me a note directly about setting up Sketchpad for your students.
I love the current interface, and I would love to have an environment where my students can enroll into a class, so I can provide more support for their projects.3 votes
There’s actually already a way to do this. Take a look at the features of a Private Studio — http://blog.sketchpad.cc/teaching/private-studios/ — and if you’d like to try this out, email me: ari at sketchpad.cc.
Ok, this might be a problem w/ processingjs in general, but is there ANY way to see/highlight what line in the PDE caused an error ? I forgot to pass in a variable to a function that was using it and my entire error msg was TypeError: Cannot read property 'undefined' of undefined -- admittedly this was more information then I know how to get out of a browser but still...3 votes
Each browser does error reporting a bit differently (frequently with different messages and different line numbers). I opened your sketch in Safari, Chrome, and Firefox (with Firebug installed), and found the error message in Firefox to be the most useful in this case.
Lets say i have an Android App to render processing.js. It would be good to use a feed from your website as input.. btw here's the link to that App :) http://code.google.com/p/my-processing/3 votes
Sketchpad now has two types of machine-readable feeds: sitemaps (4) and rss feeds (1). The URLs may change, but as of now, you can find them at:
i was wondering if there was a way to delete your comments from inside the sketchpad-ive tried many things but i can't get rid of them. PLEASE HELLPPP!2 votes
Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with the web address of these sketches.
As an alternative to providing an alternative textarea width, I made the canvas itself movable, in a layered dialog box. I think this offers even more flexibility for workspace organization.
The default license for sketches is CC-BY-SA, which makes it possible to add a clone/copy/derive button to each sketch (and each revision of each sketch.)2 votes
